In case you did not know, there is a secret to the universe. Lucky for our generation, it has been condensed into an hour-and-a-half long DVD aptly titled, "The Secret" - it has cool graphics. I know, I know: "I don't have 90 minutes to spare in this fast-paced world" you say. Well just for you, I'll condense it down to a 600-word column. The secret of life is the law of attraction. By using this natural rule, one is said to be able to receive anything and everything he or she desires. The video used the story of Aladdin and his magic lamp to explain.
The original story goes that Aladdin finds a magic lamp, rubs it and a genie appears who grants him infinite wishes. Anything he wanted, he received. The Secret states that any human has the power to get everything, like Aladdin, by simply asking the Universe through the vehicle of brain impulses.
Students stage Aladdin play, with a few twists
Several students at McNab Elementary School are giving a new twist to an old tale by performing their own version of Aladdin and His Magic Lamp.
"It's not the Disney movie," said Kris Coffelt, who is directing the play. "People will still recognize the story, but we've added in some fun characters."

ConsumerWatch: Bulbs Can Save Energy, Money
OMAHA, Neb. -- An international movement to change how we light our homes is under way and Omaha-area energy experts are on board. Australia has banned incandescent light bulbs. Europe is expected to do the same within the next two years. The replacement blub is fluorescent and uses far less energy but requires some special care. Energy experts are asking consumers to "turn off" their standard, incandescent lights. .

Brian Gionta scored a pair of goals and Patrik Elias donated three assists, as the New Jersey Devils clinched their quarterfinal series over the Tampa Bay Lightning with a 3-2 win in Game 6 at St. Pete Times Forum. Brian Rafalski also lit the lamp while Martin Brodeur came up with 32 saves for New Jersey, which advances to play Ottawa in the second round. Scott Gomez added a pair of assists in the win. "We worked hard," Brodeur said. "It wasn't easy by any means, I think we were on the verge of giving them the series in Game 4, we go into overtime and pull it off with a big goal and from there we never looked back. We worked hard and played physical and did the things that we needed to do for the win." Tampa Bay was bounced out in the first round for the second straight year.
