Parents express concerns over preschool poisoning
ST. PETERSBURG - Two Pinellas County parents have pulled their children out of a local pre-school after their toddlers got sick from drinking toxic lamp oil. Tamika Roberson spent Wednesday morning picking up her son's blanket and other remaining belongings this morning. She says her son will not be returning to Preschool at the Point in St. Petersburg. "This was the last straw," says Roberson. "So he has to be removed from this school." Her 3-year old, Elijah, found an unlabeled bottle filled with lamp oil at the preschool and drank it yesterday, thinking it was juice. "You don't put toxic chemicals inside the bottles," says Roberson. "If you're going make a discovery project, you put it somewhere that if the children do get a hold of it. It won't harm them." Another toddler, Amerion Hart, also drank the oil and won't be returning to the school.
Spiderman thief who uses trick of the light
RESIDENTS want a lamp-post removed from their street after an audacious burglar scaled it in a bid to access homes in Highgate. Several people called the police in the early hours of March 31 as the thief woke them when he clambered across roof tops and balconies along the High Street. Shop owners and residents are now asking for the lamp-post, which is only a couple of feet from their businesses, to be moved further away.Raj Kara-Rajani who lives above his Highgate Food and Wine shop was the first to see the climber. He said: "I was just getting up for work at about 5am when I saw the lamp-post shaking through the window. I didn't know what was happening, I thought it was an earthquake or something. "I opened the window and there was a guy trying to climb up. If I had opened it any further I would have knocked him off and killed him and I would have been in trouble.
Spurs whiter than white
The FA have cleared Tottenham Hotspur of any blame for the incident when a Spurs 'fan' went on the pitch and tried to lamp Lampard. An FA Spokesman said: 'After reviewing a video of the incident and receiving a full report from Spurs, there will not be any disciplinary action against the club.' Right, thanks for clearing up what we already new, nice comprehensive statement as well! To be fair, short of putting us back behind cages there is no way any club can prevent isolated cases of idiocy. Click here to join in the debate on the club forum. .
