Pinnacle Atlantic City, which purchased the Sands Casino Hotel that closed Nov. 11 after 26 years, announced Monday that it will begin the Sands' monthlong liquidation sale May 3. Pinnacle Atlantic City Executive Vice President Kim Townsend estimated that 100,000 items — many of them furniture from the hotel's 500 rooms — will be up for sale. Those include color TVs, king and full beds, armoires, nightstands, mirrors, lamps, dining tables and sofas. Other items include pool tables, pianos, fitness equipment and artwork. Among the most notable are the casino's enormous icons at the side of the building, including the dice and 20-foot high cylinders at the corner of Pacific and Indiana avenues, Townsend said. “There are many treasures that are sure to interest patrons that spent a lot of time at the Sands," Townsend said.

Camp Broadway taps professionals from the Broadway community and is credited for helping educators, students and families experience the theatre in creative and meaningful ways through role-playing, interactive exercises and performances. Teens and kids soon will be able to explore the magic of the theatre on a Royal Caribbean ship.
